What is Tarabala?
Count from your birth star to the day's star and divide by 9 — the resulting tara is your tarabala. Sampat, Kshema, Sadhana, Mitra and Parama Mitra taras are favourable; Janma, Vipat, Pratyak and Naidhana are not. When the Moon transits the 8th house from your rasi it is chandrashtama — important work is avoided that day.
