Tithi is a Hindu lunar day. One Tithi is completed when the Moon moves 12° away from the Sun. There are 30 Tithis in a lunar month - 15 in Shukla Paksha (from New Moon to Full Moon) and 15 in Krishna Paksha (from Full Moon to New Moon).

🪔 What is Shradh?
Shradh (Shraddha/Thivasam) is the annual death anniversary ritual performed by Hindu families to honor deceased ancestors. Unlike Western death anniversaries that follow the Gregorian calendar, Hindu Shradh follows the lunar calendar and is based on the Tithi (lunar day) when the person passed away.
